Springville man accused of killing mom and another man faces death penalty

Utah prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against 28-year-old Matthew Jacob Leonard, who is accused of killing his mother and another man in Springville.

Leonard faces murder charges in connection with the deaths. Neither alleged victim’s body has been recovered.

The case is moving forward despite investigators having yet to locate the remains of either alleged victim.

Leonard is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
