81-year-old Tooele man accused of attempting to murder his wife

An 81-year-old Tooele man is accused of attempting to kill his wife after allegedly telling police he had been thinking about killing her for a week.

According to police, Donald Louis Arend called 911 claiming he had killed his wife with a knife. When officers arrived, they found the woman alive.

Authorities say Arend allegedly admitted to having thoughts of killing his wife for approximately a week leading up to the incident.

The allegations remain under investigation.
