Lake Powell water levels rise nearly 2.5 feet in one month

SLC Scoop StaffUPDATED

Lake Powell is seeing a welcome boost in water levels following a rise of nearly 2.5 feet over the past month.

According to federal reservoir data, water levels increased from 3,516.62 feet on September 15 to 3,519.10 feet on October 13.

While the increase is encouraging, Lake Powell remains significantly below full capacity, highlighting the ongoing water challenges facing the Colorado River Basin.

The reservoir plays a critical role in supplying water and generating electricity across the Southwest, including Utah.
