STATE SHUTS DOWN MOAB RESORT OVER WATER VIOLATIONS.
Utah state officials have ordered the Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa near Moab to shut down its water system after inspectors found multiple serious violations involving the property’s drinking water treatment.
According to state officials, the resort’s water treatment plant was operating without a certified operator, required water quality monitoring was not being completed, and guests and staff were instructed not to use the drinking water. Officials also warned that anyone who recently consumed tap water at the resort should monitor for gastrointestinal symptoms.
The resort is not currently hosting guests while the issues are addressed, according to the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.
