valley fair mall stabbing suspect now faces federal hate crime charge
Peter Larsen, 48, is accused of stabbing a Muslim man more than a dozen times at Valley Fair Mall after asking about his religion. If convicted of the new federal hate crime charge, Larsen could face life in prison.
UPDATE: The man accused in the stabbing at Valley Fair Mall is now facing a federal hate crime charge.
Federal prosecutors say 48 year old Peter Larsen attacked a Muslim man at the West Valley City mall after asking about his religion, allegedly stabbing him more than a dozen times.
Larsen was already facing state charges in connection with the attack. If convicted on the new federal hate crime charge, he could face up to life in prison.
The victim survived the attack and has been recovering from his injuries.
