Two Utah prison facilities were placed on lockdown Thursday after an officer was assaulted by an inmate at the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison.
The officer was taken to a hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. The Central Utah Correctional Facility and the Utah State Correctional Facility in Salt Lake City were both placed on lockdown following the incident.
