patagonia sues trump over cuts to utah's national monuments

Patagonia has joined conservation and tribal groups in suing the Trump administration over its decision to shrink two of Utah’s national monuments by roughly 90%.
The July proclamations removed monument protections from nearly 3 million acres across Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante. The administration says the move returns control to local stakeholders and opens more land to grazing, recreation and resource development.
The groups challenging the decision argue that the Antiquities Act allows presidents to establish national monuments—but not dismantle protections created by previous presidents. The lawsuit is pending, and no court ruling has been issued.
