Fire crews responded early Saturday morning after a wildfire broke out near Mountain Road on Ogden’s east bench.

Officials say the fire was human caused and burned approximately 40 acres, threatening nearby homes and impacting power lines. The exact cause remains under investigation.

Residents are asked to avoid the area and keep drones grounded so firefighting aircraft can operate safely.

    Officials investigating human-caused Ogden wildfire A minor and an adult are being interviewed as persons of interest after the Mountain Road Fire broke out just before 12:50 a.m. in Ogden. The fire was initially estimated at 40 acres, but firefighters later mapped the burn area at 18.1 acres.
