Sending a tip
Tap Send a tip at the top of any page. Add a photo or video if you have one, tell us what happened and where, then send it.
You don’t need an account.

- Editors never see the contact email you leave. Replies are sent to it without showing it.
- Your IP address and contact email are deleted 30 days after the tip arrives.
- Photos are re-encoded, and their location and camera data are removed before anyone sees them.

Don’t put yourself in danger to get a shot. If someone is hurt or at risk, call 911 first.

- Published
- It’s part of a story on SLC Scoop. Your name is on it only if you asked for credit.
- Not running
- We won’t publish it, often because it couldn’t be confirmed or it’s outside our area.
Only if you left a contact email and they need more details. The reply comes from SLC Scoop, and your address stays hidden from the editor.

Choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple when you log in. We receive your name and email address from them. We never see your Google or Apple password.
With Apple you can choose Hide My Email, and we’ll only see a forwarding address.

If you signed up with Google or Apple, you don’t have an SLC Scoop password. Sign in with that provider instead.

It happens right away, and it can’t be undone. We delete your account, your profile photo, your likes and saved stories, and any comments nobody replied to. Comments with replies stay up without your name.
Tips you sent stay with the newsroom, without your name. Your username can’t be used again. To remove a tip, email us.
