Charges against Utah plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Kirk Moore Jr. have been dismissed.

Federal prosecutors have moved to dismiss the case against Dr. Michael Kirk Moore Jr., who had been accused of issuing fraudulent COVID-19 vaccination cards and administering saline injections to children instead of COVID-19 vaccines.

The charges, which carried the potential for decades in prison if convicted, were dismissed by the U.S. Department of Justice. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said the dismissal was made “in the interests of justice.”

The case drew national attention and sparked widespread debate throughout the pandemic. With the dismissal, Dr. Moore is no longer facing the federal charges in this case.
