Sheriff Kevin Potter is on voluntary leave after a crash critically injured a 22-year-old motorcyclist. Months earlier, he faced allegations of impaired driving, but investigators filed no charges.
Box Elder County Sheriff Kevin Potter has taken voluntary administrative leave after being involved in a crash that left a 22-year-old motorcyclist severely injured.
Police say the motorcyclist collided with a vehicle turning from Valley Drive onto Canyon Road near the mouth of Ogden Canyon on Tuesday.
Potter remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The Weber Metro CRASH Team is investigating the incident.
The crash comes months after Potter faced a separate complaint alleging impaired driving. That investigation ended without charges being filed.
