A Layton mother says her 5 year old son walked home from school alone during the school day and staff hadn’t realized he was gone.
Whitney Carnera says she discovered her kindergartner, Cooper, in their front yard. She says the initial response placed responsibility on her child.
“They said it was his fault and responsibility, they aren’t responsible,” she said. “My kid was essentially missing and nobody knew.”
Davis School District later apologized, acknowledging that its standard for student safety “was not met.”
