officer-involved shooting in provo leaves suspect dead after domestic violence call
Officers responded to public domestic violence assault where victim reported suspect had a gun; officers placed on administrative leave.
A man has died after an officer-involved shooting in Provo Saturday night.
Police say officers responded around 9:15pm to a report of a domestic violence assault in public near 2230 N University Parkway. The victim reported the suspect had a gun.
After arriving on scene, two officers discharged their weapons, striking the suspect. He was taken to Utah Valley Hospital, where he did not survive.
The Utah County Officer-Involved Critical Incident team is investigating. Police say they won't be releasing further details while the investigation is ongoing.
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, per standard protocol.
